Installing Microsoft SQL

After downloading sql2kdesksp3.exe. Double click the file in Windows explorer to install SQL Server 2000. Should take just a few minutes to install. For this tutorial, I've installed it using the defaults under my C: drive. Remember the disk space requirements for the Portal database. In this case I must make sure I have at least 38 megs of disk space on my C: drive.

Post install commands. After the installation, execute this command from a command prompt window to establish the password for the SQL admin account "sa". You'll need this account name and the password to login and administer SQL Server. I use "password" for passwords in every case in this tutorial to keep it simple and also memorable for the VAP installer parameters at the end.
